Verizon Internet Availability

Is Verizon High Speed Internet available in my area?
Find out right now by entering your phone number into the Verizon check availability page or in any of the boxes throughout our web site that say "Check Availability" This process helps Verizon and the other internet service providers to determine if your phone line is equipped for High Speed Internet. Activation of Verizon High Speed Internet to your location is subject to final confirmation of service availability.

My neighbor has Verizon High Speed Internet, but I can't get it?
Verizon High Speed Internet (Verizon DSL) is a distance-sensitive technology that works solely over copper phone lines. Currently, Verizon High Speed Internet is only available to customers residing within approximately 3 miles (up to 18,000 feet) from their Verizon Central Office. In addition, customers must be served over existing copper wires. Some wires may be capable of handling Verizon High Speed Internet and others may not, even within the same local area. Verizon is working to overcome the distance limitations on DSL technology, but this will take some time to develop and to roll out. While you may not qualify today for Verizon DSL, it is possible that you could be able to receive it in the near future as the technology improves.

Can I change my phone number to get a number that qualifies for Verizon DSL?
No. A telephone number change does not change your physical phone line.

I have two numbers, will the other number at the same location qualify?
Please use the check availability tools available on the website for any of your telephone numbers. It is possible that a customer location could have more than one telephone line, so one telephone line might qualify while another telephone line does not.

Do I need Verizon local phone service to get Verizon High Speed Internet?
Depending upon your location, you may be able to order Verizon High Speed Internet even if you do not have Verizon local phone service. There are several benefits to converting to Verizon High Speed Internet without local service, such as bundle discounts. You can find out right now if this option is available to you by using the links on our Verizon specials web page.

I get errors when I enter my phone number and Check Availability?
VoIP and Cell phone numbers will not work using the tools. You must either enter a land line telephone number, or, check by address where this service is available.
