Atlanta, July 10, 2006 — BellSouth (NYSE: BLS) announced today that it is expanding BellSouth® Metro Ethernet Service to include mid-band speed options for business customers.
Businesses now have access to additional BellSouth Mid-Band Metro Ethernet speed options of 2Mbps, 4Mbps and 8Mbps. BellSouth Metro Ethernet Service also offers previously available data transport speeds of 10Mbps, 20Mbps, 50Mbps, 100Mbps, 250Mbps, 500Mbps and 1000Mbps.
The introduction of BellSouth Mid-Band Metro Ethernet enables a greater number of customers to integrate a higher level of networking into their businesses. The new speeds can be offered over existing copper or fiber infrastructure, which helps drive broadband internet business applications deeper into corporate networks and reduces customer implementation costs.
