"Which high speed internet service plan is the least expensive?"

Subject: High Speed Internet for Daycare

Q: I'm interested in high speed internet service for my Daycare Center. Can you put me in touch with the least expensive plan? Signed: Mark

A:Hi Mark. If all you're looking for is to connect a few computers to the Internet, any residential DSL, Cable or Satellite connection is all you need. Our office uses a residential DSL connection to connect 10 computers, plus a handful of wireless laptops. If you are on a budget, and again, you just want your computers connected to the internet, this is something you don't need to discuss with the service provider. All you do is buy a wireless router (if you want wireless) and a 4, 8 or 10 port hub. Maybe spend $200 maximum for a good brand name hub and router wires included. Any local electronics store should be able to hand pick the parts you need.

Then read your Windows XP manual or search online for how to create a Windows XP Home Office Network. This will allow you to share files and print without any additional equipment. We will discuss more of this on the site soon, but your question came in just a bit early for us.

Download a free internet fax or voice mail plan and give it a try!
