"Why Don't I Get All Of My E-mail?"

Subject: Limits of e-mail accounts
Q: Hey Juandice, friends have been trying to send me e-mails but keep getting an error message. One friend called his ISP and they said it was my fault. My e-mail works fine. What gives? Signed: Bernie, Oregon
A:Hello Bernie. Chances are your e-mail box is full. Often times you'll still be be able to send messages, but no one will be able to send one to you, especially if there is a large attachment with that e-mail. Most likely though, your current ISP has a smaller limit of mail storage than you need. You can do one or more of the following to help the problem.
- Try and clean out old messages that you no longer need.
- Perhaps there are some large attachments that you should decide what to do with.
- Use a mail client on your computer (Microsoft Outlook). Some mail clients are "free" and you can set them up to send and receive e-mail through your internet service provider. That way your e-mail storage is always low with your ISP.
- Upgrade to another service that gives you the e-mail storage that you want and need.
Some of our internet service deals offer up to 2GB of e-mail storage — it'll take a lot of e-mails and attachments to fill that up. Good luck!
